Pawz For A Cawz Event!

Location: Wills Park lower field near Equstrian Center
Date: Saturday April 26th 2008
Time: 9:00am to 3:00pm
This event benefits ALL Georgia Rescue Groups and salutes the heroes that rescue dogs every day from Georgia Animal Shelters and some from very bad situations.  They give of themselves and dedicate their time and money to finding great homes that these dogs otherwise would not have.  A very large percent of shelter dogs were once owned and loved and are good dogs in a bad place.  Some need help and ALL of them need a home.  Lets pull together as a community and step it up to help those without a voice!  Come join us for a beautiful spring day at Wills Park in Alpharetta
Atlanta Animal Alliance  is partnering with K9 royalty and Atlanta Dog Trainer to host this event. Many K9 vendors will also be attending so if you have any questions they can help!
Come adopt today and help be part of the solution to Georgia Dogs in Crisis!

Woof ‘Em Down Dog Biscuits: An Idea From Caring.

                                       woof3.JPG

Zack and Thomas Eller of Milton are two dynamic brothers who sell homemade Woof ‘em Down Dog Biscuits. They donate all of the profits to pet rescue to help with the overwhelming homeless pet problem. In the past month alone, they have raised and donated over seven hundred dollars for pet rescue.

Their love of animals and compassion for homeless pets was evident at a very early age. Their mother has always told them, “Be part of the solution, not part of the problem”. Knowing that there are 6 to 8 million homeless pets in shelters in this country has motivated them to be part of the solution to this problem.

As a way of being part of the solution to the homeless pet problem, Zack asked his friends to bring pet food to his sixth birthday party in lieu of gifts for him. It was so successful that he has continued to do this every year for his birthday. Thomas soon asked his friends to bring pet food for his birthday parties also. Together, Zack and Thomas have donated more than 1,000 pounds of pet food to the Atlanta Humane Society. As Thomas says, “It isn’t how small you are but how big your heart is.”

In 2005, Zack and Thomas began volunteering on Saturdays for Aiding and A-Petting, a non-profit pet rescue organization in Atlanta. They soon wanted to make dog biscuits for the animals they saw there. The dog biscuits became a huge hit as they were fed to the homeless pets and sold at the adoption site to raise money for the organization.

Zack, now 12, and Thomas, 8, wanted to do more. With the guidance of their parents, they set up a web site in the spring of 2007 to sell their dog biscuits. They both work hard to sell their biscuits by on-line orders and word-of-mouth. They bake biscuits on the weekends, then fill and ship the orders.

In 2006, Zack earned the President’s Volunteer Service Award. He was nominated as a Local Honoree for state-level judging for the Prudential Spirit of Community Award in 2006, and again in 2007. They will both earn the President’s Volunteer Service Award for 2007.

Zack and Thomas expect to accomplish big things in the future. They attend various functions around town , so if you see their tent somewhere, come by and meet these outstanding young gentlemen or visit them online at www.woofemdowndogbiscuits.com and order some dog biscuits. By purchasing their Woof ‘em Down Dog Biscuits, you will be helping homeless pets until they can find a home.
